Vice President, Sales & Client Relations

Location: Toronto, ON

Position Type: Regular Full-Time

 

The Vice President, Sales & Client Relations is responsible for leading and managing the sales, account management and implementation teams, optimizing and maintaining advisor, carrier and MGA relationships and ensuring best in class service standards across all departments. The Vice President, Sales & Client Services takes the lead in establishing a cohesive and communicative inter-departmental flow of information, while holding all stakeholders accountable to meet/exceed market expectations.

 

Reporting to the President of Benecaid, we are seeking a dynamic individual to join a high-functioning team to increase Benecaid’s presence in the TPA insurance markets. This role is responsible for establishing the business development strategy and developing and executing the sales plan across Canada.

 

Critical to success in this role will be strategic and entrepreneurial skills, people leadership capabilities, combined with a strong network, collaborative mindset and extensive Group insurance benefits experience. The successful candidate will be a collaborative, agile and committed leader (and mentor) who easily builds rapport and can quickly gain credibility both internally and externally.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

•Lead the development of business strategies and operational leadership as a key member of the Benecaid Executive Leadership Team.

•Develop Sales Strategy and Plans including Market Analysis, Client Segmentation, Competitive Intelligence information and Go-to-Market and Campaign plans.

•Source, identify and contract the highest caliber advisors across all provinces.

•Facilitate advisors’ growing and changing needs with a unique product and service model offering, enhancing advisors’ practices through understanding needs and delivering appropriate solutions.

•Recruit, develop, and direct sales, account management and implementation team directors, assigning annual targets; drive full sales cycle, coaching staff across all departments.

•Develop fair and competitive internal commission plans to ensure annual sales targets are achieved

•Maintain and negotiate all insurance and wellness carrier relationships; conduct contract negotiations, create new business and retention models, and design compensation structures to ensure market competitiveness.

•Negotiate with insurance carrier partner senior management teams, setting annual premium targets and brokering block transfers between existing and new insurance carriers.

•Further Benecaid’spresence in the industry through relationships and associations and by advocating for policy development and/or changes.

•Create and encourage a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and accountability.

•Manage and sign off on all plan renewals, ensuring both market competitiveness and maintaining margin thresholds.

•Adhere to CRM reporting metrics and assign and manage weekly/monthly packages.

•Forecast and oversee all budgeting and expense management processes for sales, account management and implementation teams.

•Manage synergies with underwriting team leaders, including plan efficiencies, competitive value and ensuring proposal deadlines are met.

•Lead all client/advisor facing administrative functions to meet best in class response times.

•Serve as an escalation point for all matters regarding advisor, carrier, and MGA relations.

 

Core Qualifications and Requirements:

 

•LLPQ license mandatory; GBA or working towards certification is an asset.

•Post-Secondary Education with a min.of 5years of managerial experience in group insurance markets.

•Able to meet advisors, clients and carriers as required, including some travel depending on location.

•Ability to respond to client/advisors’ ongoing needs and has the capability to identify and uncover strategic business opportunities.

•Process oriented, with strong organizational and communication skills.

•Demonstrates ability to meet and exceed corporate targets.

•High energy and a strong consultative mindset.

•Accomplished problem solving and interpersonal skills in influencing decision makers.

•Excellentverbal and written communication skills.

•Strong Microsoft Office skills.
