Implementation Specialist

Under the direction of the Sr. Director, Customer Success and leadership from the Implementation Team Lead; the Implementation Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and onboarding of new sold groups with Benecaid; ensuring an efficient, positive and seamless transition.  The Implementation Specialist acts as the one point of contact for the Advisor/Executive Benefit Consultant, escalations, and coordination before final transition to the Account Management team.  Ensures completion and set up including billing, payment and benefit packages delivered before go live date.

Role Description:

  • Project Management
    Works with the Implementation Project Manager on projects from the time that the group is sold and ensures that client’s expectations are met during transition.  Ensures that all issues are resolved quickly. With the support of the Project Manager, monitors the group in month one for any unexpected administration or claim issues. 
  • Provide expertise relating to plan set up, enrolment and claims payment
    Understands the fundamentals of group benefits and carrier requirements to ensure compliancy and to eliminate risk to client, carrier and Benecaid.
  • Ensures quality of all data and coding of system
    Performs multiple quality checks using validation and reports.  Ensures the set up completion of group and employee data in administration and claiming platform.  Escalates rate discrepancies immediately to underwriting and EBC, and tracks resolution.
  • Carrier liaison post sale
    Ensures all carrier applications are submitted accurately and on time and coordinates any coverage or billing discrepancies with the underwriting team.
  • Ensures that all items in the implementation schedule are completed on time
    Creates and tracks activities through the implementation timeline set for the client to ensure all materials are being received on time and the group is onboarding successfully.
  • Deliverables
    Completes project deliverables including member welcome packages and Plan Administrator kits as required.

Policy and Compliance:

  • Participate in and complete all necessary job related in service training and continuing educational opportunities
  • Adhere to carrier and Benecaid rules of compliance
  • Understand, refer to, and comply with governmental policy related to program requirements for applicants
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires 2 to 5 years of related experience
  • University degree or relevant college diploma
  • Knowledge of Group Benefits/Insurance eligibility requirements is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability understand users’ questions and effectively disseminate technical information is essential
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized
  • Customer service oriented with a proven record of exceeding client expectations to provide a memorable and positive experience
